Speak a New Language. See a Bigger World.
Sycamore Academy's world language program builds real fluency in Spanish and French through conversation-first instruction, cultural immersion, and experienced teachers who make every class feel like stepping into another country.
Begin Your JourneyStudents Speak from Day One
Most language programs bury students in worksheets and conjugation drills for months before they ever open their mouths. Sycamore does the opposite. From the very first class, students are speaking, listening, and responding in the target language.
Grammar is taught in context, not in isolation. Students learn verb tenses by describing their weekend, not by filling in blanks. Vocabulary sticks because it is attached to real conversations, role-plays, and partner activities that make the language feel alive.
Our teaching approachLanguage Lives Inside Culture
You cannot truly learn a language without understanding the people who speak it. Every Sycamore language course weaves in authentic music, film, literature, cuisine, and celebrations from Spanish-speaking and Francophone countries around the world.
Students explore the murals of Mexico City, the festivals of Senegal, the cafes of Paris, and the folklore of Argentina. They come away not just with vocabulary, but with a genuine appreciation for the diversity and richness of the cultures behind the words.
Clear Progress, Measurable Fluency
Our courses are aligned with ACTFL proficiency standards, giving families a clear picture of exactly where their student stands and where they are heading. From Novice-Low in introductory courses to Intermediate-Mid and beyond in advanced levels, every milestone is defined and measured.
Students completing Spanish III or IV exceed the two-year language requirement at most universities. Many enter college with enough proficiency to place out of introductory courses entirely, saving both time and tuition.
Choose Your Language Path
Each language follows a structured multi-year progression from first exposure to advanced proficiency.
